❄️ Winter Weather & Snow Day Planning ❄️

With winter weather potentially in the forecast this weekend, we want to take a moment to share how the Seaford School District will approach any snow events this season. As always, transparency is important to us, and we want families to understand our thinking ahead of time.

The first two days of winter weather will be traditional snow days. School will be canceled for students, and there will be no expectation for work to be assigned or completed.

If additional days are needed beyond those first two, the district will transition to an asynchronous learning model. At the high school level, this will be electronic, as students take their Chromebooks home each night. In our other buildings, students have been sent home with a small number of activities designed to practice and extend grade-level learning, while still allowing plenty of time to enj

oy their snow day. Principals will communicate directly with families as appropriate.

This approach helps protect our academic calendar, avoid extending the school year further into June, and still allows families time to enjoy winter weather.

Most importantly, we hope everyone stays safe and warm, and we appreciate your continued support as we navigate the winter months together.
