2019-20 District Teacher Teacher of the Year Finalists Announced

Congratulations to the three school-level finalists who will move on to the final stage for the selection of the 2019-20 District Teacher of the Year:

Laura Burke - Central ES
Lyndsey Gerstle – Blades ES
Dr. Krystal Hershey – West Seaford ES

Observations for the three finalists will be conducted as the final step in the selection process. All building-level winners will be recognized and the District TOY winner will be announced at an end-of-the-year Retirement and Teacher of the Year Celebration on June 12 at Seaford HS at 4:00pm.


June 3rd, 2019 at 7pm at the High School, will be the 8th Grade Bridge Ceremony. We will pass our 8th graders, "Across the Bridge" to High School and recognize their Middle School achievements. Invitations have been sent home.

School Board Candidate Forum to be Held Wednesday, April 17

The Western Sussex Branch of the DE AAUW is sponsoring a night for the community to meet the Seaford Board of Education Candidates, Mrs. Dara Laws Savage and Mr. Shawn Garrahan.

Come and hear each candidate answer prepared questions and speak to school related issues and concerns. Community members will have the opportunity to submit written questions that will be collected during the forum.

The forum will be held on Wednesday, April 17 at 7:00 pm in the Central Elementary School auditorium. Election day is Tuesday, May 14.


We are looking for chaperones for our PBIS Field Trip on Monday, June 10th to Jolly Rogers Water Park. Flyer's are being sent home today with more info. If you are interested, please fill out the form and return with your student so we can send you additional forms.

8th Grade Party Meeting for Parents &Guardians

April 16th, 2019 @ 5:30 in our cafeteria, we will be having our first meeting for the 8th Grade Party. We need all of your help to make this party happen for all of our 8th Graders! Hope to see you April 16th!

Two-Hour Delay Monday, April 15

The Seaford School District will open schools two-hours late this morning, Monday April 15th. Breakfast will not be served today, so please provide your child with a healthy breakfast at home. For Pre-K students, there is no AM pre-k. Full-day pre-k students should arrive two-hours late. Pre-K PM students who ride a bus will arrive at school at approximately 12:30 p.m. Pre-K PM students who are dropped off by a parent or caregiver, may still arrive at their regular time.

Please come out and join us on, Tuesday, May 21st, 2019 at 7pm in our auditorium to support our students, as they perform their Spring Band Concert.

Autism Awareness Month

The month of April is Autism Awareness Month. Please join us on April 2nd in Gateway Park, Downtown Seaford, as we "Light It Up Blue!"
